Chapter Seven
On the seventh day of Christmas, Fate sent to Ginger seven orgasms in a rowâ¦
Ginger had taken the risk the night before. Now, it was time to see if the gamble had paid off. Would Richard and James check their cellphones? Well, now that was up to Fate. Ginger had done her part.
âHey, Ginger,â said Patricia, walking up to Ginger, who was restocking gingerbread houses. âGuess what?â
âWhat?â asked Ginger.
âSomebody wants to see you,â said Patricia. âItâs a certain werebear.â
âWell, tell him Iâve already got two werebears after me, and I donât need a third, thanks,â said Ginger, shelving the kits.
âIâm actually doing just fine right now, but thank you for your concern,â said a familiar voice. Ginger quickly looked up and hit her head on the shelving. Her bossâs boss, Jasper Dixon, was there. He was a billionaire, but he looked like any other average person from Port Jameson. He was wearing a pair of black work pants with a red and black check shirt, and some black snow boots.
âJasper? Hey, sorry about that comment,â said Ginger.
âPlease tell me you donât talk to the customers like that,â said Jasper.
âSo you want her to lie?â asked Patricia, raising a brow.
âWell, I came by to have a word with you,â said Jasper. âDo you have a moment?â
Ginger gulped. Apparently, she was already in frikkinâ trouble. She had just managed to get herself further in trouble by insulting her boss!
Jasper led Ginger to the storage room.
âI heard youâve been giving away product,â said Jasper. âCare to explain yourself?â
âA homeless woman has been coming in with her kids,â admitted Ginger. âThey just asked to use the bathroom, but I saw they were in need, so I gave them the day-olds, and Iâve put them aside for them every day since.â
âAnd who is this woman?â asked Jasper.
âI canât tell you,â said Ginger.
âYou canât, or you wonât?â asked Jasper.
âI wonât because I canât,â explained Ginger. âI canât let her get in trouble over this, so, if you have to fire me, fire me. I know what I did is something that could get me fired elsewhere.â
âYouâre not fired, and nobody is in trouble,â Jasper assured her. âBear Claw Bakery tries to give back whenever it can. Thatâs why my wife and I pay the tab for those in needâwhen you charge things to âArtemis.ââ
âThatâs you two?â asked Ginger.
âThatâs right,â said Jasper. âMy mateâs name is Artemis, and we try to give back, however we can. My concern is thereâs a family in this town in real need this holiday season. They shouldnât have to eat frikkinâ day olds to get by. â
âHer nameâs Ivy,â said Ginger. âSheâs staying at a shelter in town with her three kidsâ two boys and a girl.â
âAnd?â asked Jasper.
âAndâ¦well, her husband passed, and since then, sheâs been taking care of their kids,â said Ginger. âShe doesnât know where to go, who to turn to. Familyâs offered to take the kids in, but theyâd all have to split up. I know
